The Bore Well uses a reciprocating. Looking suspiciously similar to an old oil drill (specifically a pumpjack), the Bore Well is more or less just that a water well pumpjack that is now used to extract a resource that is now as valuable to your Colonists as oil once was to the old world that resource being Water.
It is recommended to use Drains along with sprinklers to get rid of any excess water they have produced, and it is adviced to. They do not replace calling the emergency services to extinguish the fire, they do however slow the fire spread until emergency units arrive. They also require a water source. Sprinklers put out fires in an area of 7x7.
